Footprints In The Sand song by Benjamin Russell, copyright (c) The Clear Blue Enterprise (socan) Sand castles and footprints in the sand These are impermanent like man Waves crash on coral rocks Turning them to sand While we're sitting on our favourite one And I'm holding your hand Pelican riding on a wave Doesn't seem to notice us today On a gust of wind, he rises up And carries on his way And sitting here, we think of words That we don't have to say These days in Mexico The precious gift you give Remembering Just what it is to live Driftwood log washed up with the tide Shells clinging for the ride On storm-tossed waves from who knows where It traveled far and wide For you and I to discover here Walking side by side These days in Mexico... Sand castles and footprints in the sand Footprints in the sand

Nothing I'd Rather Do song by Benjamin Russell, copyright (c) The Clear Blue Enterprise (socan) The air is clear, the sky is blue Fresh pine under foot, I'm glad I'm with you Smoke in the air, pine logs and you I love every moment, I know you do too Walking, talking in this summer light Sharing, caring, it feels so right There's nothing I'd rather do than be with you Long ago and far away I remember these things like it was just yesterday Love grows, it shows, we've come so far I know you know we're happy and we are There's nothing I'd rather do than be with you I love you, you love me And summer days are free The air is clear, the sky is blue Fresh pine under foot, I'm still glad I'm with you Walking, talking in this summer light Sharing, caring, it feels so right There's nothing I'd rather do than be with you

All For You 02:50
All For You song by Benjamin Russell, copyright (c) The Clear Blue Enterprise (socan) Before we met I lived alone inside myself And though I spoke a lot, some things I didn't tell I tried so hard to break my cage, but there was nothing I could do But that's changed and I owe it all to you, all to you Before we met, love was just another thing one does I knew I needed something - I didn't know what it was I pleased my body, no matter much with who But that's changed, now I save my love for you, all for you You are ancient, you are young You're wise but yet unsung You're a goddess in my eyes Before we met, writing songs was a selfish way of life I wrote them for me only as I stumbled through the night I didn't care if anyone else thought that they were true But that's changed, now they're written all for you, all for you You are ancient, you are young You're wise but yet unsung You're a goddess in my eyes

Home Again 03:29
Home Again song by Benjamin Russell, Elyce, Elaine - copyright (c) The Clear Blue Enterprise (socan) I'm a little out of focus - but that's OK, I see XZY and me - don't see eye to eye But I don't mind - I find the stars are aligned Just fine Some of us connect with hearts and thoughts Even though we don't see or speak And now I find you're on my mind And that's exactly what I seek You can never go home again - an axiom it seems But what about my dreams Do they tell me a lie - when they say that I Should give it a try - Why? Yesterday's patterns are breaking down The bonds around my heart And now I find you're on my mind And I want to make a brand new start Flowers - can grow on - graves - of past mistakes Water them - with forgiveness - that's surely - what it takes I'm a little out of focus - but that's OK I see XZY and me - don't see eye to eye But I don't mind - I find the stars are aligned Just fine I want to go home again I'm inclined to go home again I'm trying to go home again

about

Benjamin Russell's muse has been like an elephant in the room. Touch the front left leg, it's a folk song, the trunk and it's a punk pop song, the right ear and it's avant electronic dance. What's a critic to do? Which bin do we file this in?

To make life easier for those less universal in their tastes, Russell has chosen to focus the laser of his creativity through a 3-faceted prism. He recently released a pop rock punk soul album called, SUNDOG, under his own name. Then there's GURU GROAN, his quirky electronic dance project with a recently released EP called, BUY THE BOMB. The third is the acoustic, RIVER OF STONE.

Made with the help of his friends, this album returns Russell to where he started as a folk style singer-songwriter.
